Our jewelry is made from a number of raw metals and materials. For specifics and instructions for care please see below.

Brass + Bronze

Many of our pieces are made from raw brass and bronze or a combination of the two. When left raw these metals have the tendency to naturally patina and age over time. We love this about brass, and feel it gives each piece character, but if you prefer to keep your piece in it's original bright gold form, store in an airtight container or use a gentle brass/ bronze cleanser or polish when needed to bring it back to it's bright state.

Sterling + Fine Silver

When worn regularly, silver usually keeps it bright state. If kept on a dresser for long periods of time unworn (depending on the climate you live in) it can tarnish. You can easily rid your silver jewelry of tarnish with a simple polish, but we recommend wearing your jewelry often to naturally prevent this.

14k Gold

The purest of these metals, will not turn or change and can be simple polish with a cloth for extra shine

14k Gold Fill

Some of our rings and necklace chains as well as many of our ear wires are made of 14k gold fill soldered with 14k gold. Gold fill is made from solid gold which is 'filled' with other alloys. Unlike gold plate, It will not flake, and the surface will not turn your fingers like brass can do. The finish and surface of gold fill has the same properties of solid gold because it is gold. Please care for your gold fill pieces just as you would a gold piece of jewelry. Gently polish by hand with a clean cloth.

Oxidized Jewelry

For pieces that come oxidized, wear as normal and allow the patina process to continue. If you prefer less oxidization just run under water and rub away a bit with a polishing cloth. Using a polish or cleanser on your oxidized piece will remove the patina and bring it back to a bright brass or silver state, so please be aware of this. Black oxidation will often wear away and become lighter with time and continuous wear.
